Landscaping Equipment Financing

Dump trailers

Dump trailer financing for landscapers

Mulch, stone, debris, and spoils — a dump trailer saves trips and back strain. It is also one of the more approachable pieces of equipment to finance.

A dump trailer is often a landscaping company's second big purchase after the truck. It hauls material in, debris out, and dumps in place, saving hours of shoveling per job.

Trailers are titled road equipment, so lenders look at the VIN, the GVWR, and the title paperwork. Because they cost less than machines, terms are usually shorter.

Budget

What it really costs

Ranges are general market ranges, not quotes.

Trailer

Common 10–16 ft dump trailers often cost about $8,000–$25,000 depending on GVWR, wall height, and options.

Options

Tarp kits, ramps, spreader gates, and battery chargers add up.

Title & registration

Taxes, title, and plates vary by state. These can sometimes be financed — label them separately.

New vs. used

How the choice changes financing

new

  • Clean title, warranty on hoist
  • Easy invoice from the trailer dealer

used

  • Check hydraulic cylinder, floor rust, and wiring
  • Private sales need a clean title in the seller's name

Field tips

Before you sign anything

  • Make sure your truck can tow the loaded weight legally.
  • Higher GVWR may change licensing rules in your state.
  • Get the title path clear before you pay.
