Compact Track Loaders for Sale: Compare Tracks, Hydraulics and Asking Prices

Compare compact track loaders for sale using actual Bobcat dealer prices, track and attachment checks, and a calculator for undercarriage costs.

If the machine in the listing will spend its first week grading a paver base, carrying pallets or running a powered attachment, find out which job is going to set the limit. One machine can be wide enough for your bucket but short on hydraulic flow. Another can handle the attachment but bring a track replacement bill into its first season. Build your shortlist around both.

Start with the attachment, then choose the loader

For a bucket and forks, record the loads you move and the height you need to reach. For a powered attachment, get the attachment maker’s required flow, pressure, coupler and any case-drain requirements. Compare those numbers with the actual machine’s options. A loader model that could be ordered with high flow may have left the factory without it.

The non-current Bobcat T66 is one example. Bobcat lists 17.6 gallons per minute for standard auxiliary flow and 26.9 for high flow. Its published overall width is 67 inches, before you account for a wider implement. Ask the dealer to confirm installed options using the serial number. A brush cutter, soil conditioner or other attachment may need a different configuration than the one in a listing photo.

Two dealer prices and the questions they raise

Bobcat of Indy advertised a 2022 T66 at $29,900 and a 2019 T770 at $42,900. The T66 showed about 1,360 hours across the dealer’s inventory and detail pages. The T770 listing showed 1,179 hours. A newer model year has the lower asking price in this pair. The larger model, configuration and condition make these separate purchase decisions.

Get an itemized price for the machine, bucket or forks, freight and any immediate repairs. Ask the dealer to price the installed track size and tell you when the rollers, sprockets and tracks last received work. A cheap base unit with tired running gear can cost more to put on a site than a higher-priced machine with documented work already done.

Estimate how much track wear one job must carry

Use an installed replacement quote, the operating hours you expect before replacement and your estimated monthly hours. Divide the quote by expected hours, then multiply by monthly hours to set a cash reserve. A $6,000 quote spread over 1,200 assumed hours is $5 per hour. At 80 hours per month, that is $400 a month to include in the budget. These are planning assumptions, not a prediction of track life.

If most jobs involve long travel on hard surfaces, use service records from comparable jobs when you estimate remaining hours. Get a separate line for downtime or a rental substitute. Avoid counting a future track bill twice if your maintenance contract already covers it.

Move from shopping to a financing request

Ask for the machine’s serial number, hour photo and exact attachment list. Put each listing through the same job: moving the same pallet, using the same implement and reaching the same dump height. If a dealer cannot confirm an option, mark it unknown. Price does little to settle the comparison until both machines can do the work.

Have a machine in mind? Start a commercial equipment financing request with the seller’s written quote and your business timeline. Include any attachments that need to be considered. We can discuss the transaction and possible funding options. Availability, eligibility and terms depend on the actual machine, seller and lender review.

Monthly track reserve (USD): 400

Illustrative figures, not a service-life estimate. Use a parts-and-installation quote for this track size and an inspection-based estimate of remaining life. A zero service-life assumption cannot produce a reserve.
